Illamasqua Hydra Veil was a product that i have kept my eye on since pictures first appeared when Illamasqua released their Paranormal collection, it was something that was immediately intriguing it wasnt makeup, it was jelly, it was weird, and it sounded pretty amazing.

#ILLAMASQUA HYDRA VEIL FULL#
So, the combination of a hydrating base with a creamy textured full coverage foundation is quite something. It’s a thicker formula than some liquids, but blends like a dream and really is quite magic in terms of making my skin look nice when it really is a blemish-filled mess.

It lasts all day on my skin, around 8hrs, but it can stretch to longer with a little powder after a few hours. Anyway, the foundation itself is medium-full coverage with a satin, natural looking finish. Can we mention the packaging first? I love the rose gold top and the sleek, slightly vintage style! Her makeup always looks gorgeous. Speaking of foundation, the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is a new release from the amazing makeup artist. The Illamasqua Hydra Veil definitely does what it says on the tin, making foundation last longer, skin looks more plump and less dull when using it and it’s just a wonderful product to use if you have to wear foundation for 8hrs a day. Using only a small amount, it applies like a serum to skin and a little goes quite a long way meaning the tub will last for ages. Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer part hydrator, part primer to create a smooth, dewy base. It’s odd, but definitely one to try out to know what I mean. As you can see from the second picture, it has quite a liquid consistency that looks a little like jelly, but completely reforms into a more solid state when placed back in the container. Microalgae, Vitamin C and B3 work together to help maintain skins hydration levels, creating a healthy looking, balanced finish. Starting with the base, the Illamasqua Hydra Veil primer is certainly the most unique one in my collection. And so the need for the above seems pretty obvious, no? My skin is often dehydrated and dull so if I’m opting for a primer, radiance or hydrating numbers seem to find their way to my visage. As a bit of background, I tend to go for medium-full coverage foundations as my blemishes are a-plenty and I’d rather not see them on a daily basis. As I’m constantly on the hunt for the ‘perfect base’, it’s only right that I added these two to my collection and I’m so glad I did.
